Looking for an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing team in Supply, NC. The PMHNP/PA will be responsible for working in an outpatient role treating psychiatric and mental health patients. Additionally we prefer providers who are comfortable working with children as young as 6 years old.
The Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant will assess new patients presenting for in person or telemedicine-based care of mild to moderate psychiatric conditions, to include possible substance use disorders, determine appropriateness of enrollment in medication management, and manage their treatment through the duration of their care at MACS. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant would collaborate with our in-house team of therapists (to include LCSWs, LMSWs, LCASs and LCMHCs) via internal referral and actively participates in regular clinical team meetings. The NP/PA may also be asked to participate in quality improvement activities,collaborate regularly with our Director of Clinical Operations, as well as our Medical Director.
Moving Ahead Counseling Services, PLLC is an outpatient behavioral health practice in addition to providing virtual care via telehealth, when appropriate. Our primary focus is to provide measurement-based, trauma informed mental health care via evidence-based models, in order to promote individual empowerment, enhance mental health awareness, and create healthy communities by increasing access to treatment and services for residents in the Tri-county and surrounding areas.
We use an Electronic Medical Record system and are almost paperless, so basic familiarity with computer systems is a must. Since we accept most insurances, providers who are already in-network for major insurance companies (e.g. BCBS-NC, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, UHC, AmeriHealth, Carolina Complete, Healthy Blue, Wellcare, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) being credentialed will be a huge plus. If you are not credentialed with all the insurance companies, no worries. We will help you with the credentialing process.
The position offers flexible schedule depending upon the caseload and your availability. You will work with a great team of professionals, so having a team-oriented mindset is of utmost importance.
General Responsibilities
- Provide direct psychiatric services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, including prescribing medications and formulating evidence-based treatment plans.
- Develop and supervise the treatment plans of assigned patients.
- Collaborate with our in-house therapists to provide all-inclusive mental health services to our clients.
- Provide a positive environment for supportive, recovery-based treatment.
- Work effectively with other team members
- Communicate with patients and their families as appropriate.
- Assist with administrative duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- PMHNP, NP or PA (Required)
- Current valid NC RN License and Licensure to Practice(required)
- DEA License with X-waiver (preferred)
- Minimum of 1-3+ years-experience in Psychiatric Mental Health care
- Ability to provide care across the lifespan, to include 6 y/o and up
Job Type: Part Time- It is possible that full time will be available in the future.
Pay: $60.00 – $80.00 per hour
